The majority of workplace related vehicle accidents involve reversing and nose to tail incidents. The reasons for these mishaps can be many and varied and not just limited to poor driving skills. Unrealistic work schedules can result in unsafe practices. Employees need to value their company vehicles and an incentive scheme for safe driving could be an option.

Our program consists of establishing the causes of costly mishaps in the workplace, arriving at a solution and assessing the driving skills of individual employees if required. Any deficiencies observed in the following criteria, will be recorded and submitted.

There are four components to good driving. For drivers to achieve expert status, they need to excel in all four. Naturally, it goes without saying that vehicles must be roadworthy and maintained in “tip-top” condition.

  1. VEHICLE CONTROL. Our ability to maintain control of the vehicle in an emergency is crucial. This requires an expert steering and braking technique.

  2. SAFETY PRINCIPLES. Vision, Space, Early Decisions, Visibility and Avoidance, must all be understood and linked in order to minimise risk whilst driving.

  3. ROAD RULES. We need to excel in both the knowledge and application of these.

  4. DRIVER ATTITUDE. Little emphasis is generally placed on this important component. Nowadays however, it is becoming even more relevant than ever before. The stress of living in a large city is being reflected in the aggression of many drivers, who should find other, more appropriate outlets for “letting off steam.” Patience and courtesy should be at the forefront when it comes to driver attitude.
Overall, this is a neat and concise little package, which can be staggered so it doesn’t remove employees from the workplace for too long at any given time.
